This is a very worthwhile car to restore, but let me explain the state of the body before you read on. Both quarters, one door jamb and driver's floor pan are cut out. I have new sheet metal for all(except jamb, have good used one), so the car is at a "bodyman's" state right now. That's a plus for some, negative for others, you decide...
The car is an original 74 Challenger Rallye (code A57), 318, auto, red (E5) on white buckets/console interior, with white vinyl and black strobe stripes originally. Will give honest description, but would prefer to talk on the phone.
BODY:
At the sheetmetal repair stage. Have new steel quarters, trunk extensions and drivers pan. Old quarters and floor pan are cut, new metal ready to be welded on. Frame is excellent. Trunk lid, doors, both fenders, Rallye hood, all excellent. Hood hinge area has rust, could be fixed, could be replaced, either way. Front fibreglass piece for headlights/grill is good. Tailights, grille, bumpers, fender vents, valence, rear pan (with cutouts) are all good and usable. Has fibreglass T/A front spoilers (damaged, but fixable). Have all trim. Glass and windsheild all perfect (out of car).
DRIVETRAIN:
Have 318 2 bbl, sitting in engine bay. Not original, from 74 Dart and complete. Number matching automatic transmission. 8 3/4 rearend, don't know gears. Rear springs seem good. PS, PB
INTERIOR:
Have white seats, need recovering. Car has black door panels (was being switched over to black interior). Dashpad cracked (weird heh?). Console, steering wheel, slapstick shifter all good. Needs headliner and carpet. Rallye dash in excellent shape.
Also have NOS marker lights, Challenger emblems, washer bottle. Have fender tag and broadcast sheet. The car is complete except don't have exhaust tips, carpet, headliner and hood hinges.
Asking $6500 or will consider 68-74 'E' or 'B' body Mopar trades (UP, DOWN or straight across). Will consider all offers, just lost interest in car. Thanks!
