Carlilse Suggestion
« on: July 09, 2007 - 07:54:00 AM »
I am glad I finally got to meet some of the faces Ive been talking to for the last 3 1/2 years but however it would have been cool to meet everybody... maybe for next year you can organize a members meet time everyday at the tent like between 1:00 and 3:00pm or something like that...just a thought... I never got to meet my internet mechanic Chyrco   :thinkerg:

Anyway next year will be my virgin year bringing my challenger that so many members helped me restore over the last 3 1/2 years from this site... there isnt any kind of rule for your first year saying you have to bring cases of beer or anything like that is there .....  :burnout:

I like 73barracudas roll call idea as well...

Great Ideas StrOkEr, a guest book for members and guests to sign is also an idea.  :thinkerg: The names could be posted here after the show.

One more idea... A board we could tack pictures to. All we would need would be the board, an instant camera and film for the pics.  :thinkerg:

Sounds like a new rule now!!!  :lol2:  :lol2:  :lol2: Next year you bring all the drinks (and these people drank a lot...  :drunk::poopoke: I have other plans...  :stirpot:

P.S. The barqs for CP is a must.

Well, The Grandpa Growlers meet I think was supposed to be the Club Meeting for the weekend, only problem was the music was so loud and the ordering was such a pain that it just sorta ended up being a mess.

My wife and I are struggling to find a house to rent (or God allowing even buy) in which case I would be absolutely HONORED to host a C-C.com Dine-And-Drown party - park on my lawn and fire up the 60,000 BTU stainless steel grill.

A meeting time at the tent could work, but the show is always so unpredictable - you get hung up somewhere for an indeterminable period of time without even realizing it.  Chrycho missed out on lunch Saturday 'cause he ran into someone from another board and ended up spending an hour chatting!

Being a resident of the area, I'd be more than happy to help out with providing things that might be a hassle for other's to carry along with luggage and the sort.  As next year's show starts to approach, I'll make whatever arrangements I can to help out - be it with hotels, restaurants, fields, etc.  Just lemme know what you need!

I like the idea of meeting at a certain time at the tent.  :2thumbs: When someone drops by, there is no guessing which of us might be there to scare them off.  :grinyes: Saturday at noon, or whatever sounds good.

Sorry I missed you Stroker & all the others , nothing went as planned this weekend other than presenting the Cuda to Don
It was still a blast to be there  , it really is about the people not the cars ... the cars just bring us together

I only got to see a few members all weekend and i was at the hotel...  Man it is tough with 2 little ones running around, and 1 in a carrier.  I am actually still at the Fairfield.  We just got back from a long day at Hershey Park!  What a blast for me, um I mean the kids.... :roflsmiley:

Well thanks for having us.

Tom

BTW it was like a 100degrees at the park today! :villagers:

It was a great time, if any do not think so I think they just missed out somehow.  :roflsmiley: The only bummer was Dave (Purple1) getting backed into by a drunk in the parking lot. Not too bad, but bad enough for sure, now he will be ready to do the work he has had planned all along.  :2thumbs:

It also was a special privilege to get to meet BabyElelphant and his wife who came in from Norway, that had to have been a bummer of a drive  :roflsmiley:, we got to be their chauffeur Saturday. They were a fun and delightful couple, They too experienced a bummer experience, the airline lost their luggage, no clothes (fresh ones anyhow), and she had to visit a local clinic for an eye infection. But they were troopers and enjoyed it all I do beleieve. Just proves even when things don't go perfectly your attitude will and can make a difference in how much you enjoy the moment.

As usual Carlisle with the C-C.C family is just plain fun no matter what happens.  :2thumbs:
