The triple Black (TX9) thread
« on: July 01, 2007 - 07:38:36 AM »
I figured I would start this one for grins and gigles to see if anyone could add or verify what I have foud out.

I am getting a running tally of how many running true 1971 TX9 Challengers are left. A friend of mine has one very nice one that will be in the invitational area building T at Carlisle.

71 TX9 383 RT, stripe delete, BSM, auto console buckets
71 TX9 340 3-speed convertible
71 TX9 440 RT? magazine cover car a few years back
71 TX9 Hemi RT car- verified in Canada
71 TX9 RT w red longitude stripe - not sure which dispacement
71 TX9 on this site

These are what I have found/heard about from very reliable sources so far. I would love to verify these and start to get a documented tally...

The 70 TX9s are easier and more plentiful to find.

I know this much- They made fewer 71s than 70, and the drivetrain choices were not as bountiful.
71 was a popular year for the hi-impact colors. The take on the hi-impact far superceded the take on the traditional primary colors- Black, White, Red, Silver, Gunmetal...

For some reason, these oddballs just have an unmistakable presence...
Of the least popular colors, black and white are the only ones you could order in a triple combo.

I know that you could order triple green, triple blue, double red, double burnt orange....
