Well, I dont really like talking financing, but its Ok I guess, it doesnt really hurt anyone.
It is an '04 with 40,000 miles on it. Here's the bummer. The guy said $1500 on the phone the two times that I called to make sure it was still there. So I get there, get everything all set up, ready to load and pay for. He then leans on his desk real casual/synical like and says, "So.... What are we going to do about this core charge?"
I was like, what do you mean core charge, you never said anything about a core.
He says, Well I usually say it every time on the phone.
I was like, Usually? There's no way you said anything about it, I would have asked how much it was.
Needless to say, he didnt budge, he could tell I was pissed, big time. I asked if he does that type of thing just to get people to come down, and he didnt reply, lol, what a jerk. I think he did feel bad once I told him what I was doing with it, and I was doing it myself. So he threw in the pedal sensor for nothing. Woop-dee-doo.
So the core charge was $300. Yikes. But I drove over an hour there, and I wasnt going home without it.
5.7 Hemi- $1800
Engine Comp- $150
I was out of state, so no tax. I did get the entire engine wiring harness too. I might sell that and get the Street and Performance one though, sounds much simpler.
My truck will weigh when done with me in it approx. 3800 lbs, about the same or less than a Dakota, depending on model. There isnt anything to it really, just a frame and a tin box, lol.
So... If I get a tranny, and the input shaft is too long, could I not just get that retro pilot bearing, and cut the shaft off? What would that hurt?
Oh, and I've seen more powerful things in Dakota's before, this one I saw a few months ago.
