Hey Barry I got another VIN to add to your list

I know this car was destroyed (actually it rotted out and all of the salvagable parts were stripped from it). So you can add it to the list of vin's of cars that no longer exist. It was a 71 Challenger RT. I have the dash VIN and the fender tag (I have to remember where I put it). The car was red with an automatic, side stripes, and rallye gauges.

Thanks for letting me know. 

You should destroy the dash VIN tag though. Cutting it in two works. It is against the federal laws and most (maybe all?) state laws to be in possession of a loose VIN tag and you just mentioned it in an open forum.

Post a photo of it here after you cut it in two maybe? 

The same laws do not apply to the fender tag, you can keep that as a souvenir without breaking any laws.

My car has no dash VIN, sheet, fender or door tag. It's got a State assigned VIN. I don't care because it's being built as a rod since it didn't have any pedigree on the car although most likely by options and factory black outs, side scoops, sways, power brakes, rally hood,exhaust valence, etc. it started life as a R/T. (maybe...probably?)

1971 Challenger
My cowl and radiator support has B1-429245 stamped. I've looked at your archives, no luck that I can see. Any info about this? Approximate build date?

Just curious more than anything.
