Remote Mirror Hardware...driver door
« on: September 29, 2007 - 10:51:41 AM »
just ready to put my driver door panel on BUT  something seems to be missing?  from the remote mirror control. I have a trim ring/nut part for the inside on the finished panel but there appears to be a need for 'some other part' to hold the deal to the door panel? or maybe I've got the wrong nut part? since the thread on the remote mirror device isn' much longer than the panel is thick say about 1/4"  or so..........anybody got a picture of the hardware so I  know what I'm in need of.............thx.

there si  a spring steel square piece that holds the joy stick into the steel door frame then the panel goes over top & the threaded nut holds the joy stick tight to the door panel

Yes, they are re-popped, check Year One or Paddock as a start. I know I've seen that part in a catalog, just can't remember which one.

I think it's called a retainer nut. For some reason any remote mirror you buy is missing it.  :screwy:

Got the part,  its actually a thin stamped type 'washer/clip' about .020" thick that positions the joy stick into  the plastic door panel, then you position the panel to the door. got a used one for $5........problem solved.
