I'm sure it's rare. This is on my 70 Cuda Conv. Cool factory option. Vacuum Trunk release.

You should have posted that picture in the "what the heck is it" thread. I would be dead 50 years before someone guessed that.  :smilielol:  That is a first for me.  :grinyes:

Not a factory option on an E body, only dealer installed.

I assume, even if dealer installed, it's still correct with the proper paperwork indicating so. The Cuda had the trunk spatter paint and all the mounting marks indicated it had never been removed until now by me. I sure wish I had the build sheet for this one to see if this was for real. I have been told by two diff parties it was and it wasn't. :dunno: It's a cool option anyway. :2thumbs:

Now does that make this car a 1 of 1  Seriously though, like you said, it really is cool.

I have 2 of them.  One on my 71 vert and one on a R/T.  It was a New Yorker or Imperial option.  Downfall is it only works when the car is running and I used to have to rev up the 440 in my Vert to get it to work.  I had a large cam in it with low vaccum.  Is your trunk button located in the glovebox?

It may have been added at the same time as the spatter paint?  :dunno:
