A/C Condensation Leak
« on: July 22, 2007 - 09:03:57 PM »
Hey Guys:   Finally got the A/C working (blows nice & cold).   Took a nice 200 mile trip this weekend and on the way home it starts leaking (dripping) out of the box on my wife's feet!    She wasn't too impressed.

I'm not too familiar with A/c -- obviously condensation building and not draining properly.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Boy thats a tough one - might check and be sure the drain is clear. If its factory AC the drain pipe exits out the passenger side firewall. If its leaking from the mating seam in the case or a crack in the case you might be able to patch it with something from the outside. Its a pretty good task to remove the plenum and reseal it.

It is factory.....     Do you know the best way to check to see if the hose extension through the firewall is plugged?   Air compressor?

I found leaves, movie ticket stubs, and a lot of other stuff in mine when I took mine apart. Could be yours has some similar stuff thant might be blocking it. Compressed air is good place to start or a strong shop vac. Look in the hole with a flashlight and mirror. If there's blockage you should be able to see it.
