I recently sold a set of greasy dirty Pontiac belts on E-pay.  I just had two buckets, one with a small amount of water with detergent and one with clean water.  I scrubbed by hand in the soapy water and then rinsed right away to let drip dry

They came out great and I sold them for $200ish

Mine had some rust spots on the webbing so I used some diluted CLR & scrubbed with a stiff/plastic bristle brush + a degreaser, rinsed immediately with hot water & hung up to drip dry..lubed mechanism with spray silicone...I wuz pleased.

I used Woolite. Let them soak overnight and used a soft brush on the material the next day. Rinsed them and soaked again. Rinsed and let dry. Looks like new. I used woolite because it doesn't fade the material and won't shrink it since you use cold water. I was really concerned about not damaging the label  on each belt too.

That's an awesome idea and I'll have to borrow that technique when the time comes. :2thumbs:  Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us.
