11inch clutch cuda????
« on: December 16, 2003 - 10:18:17 PM »
I have a 11inch clutch set and bellhousing. Will this fit in a 1970 cuda? Any clearence problems for the bell housing and firewall?   As far as I know only 10.95 bellhousing and clutch was factory. This is going to be a 440 six pack 833 18 spline car.
Also the flywheel has some small heat cracks after machining it. Is this still ok to run???

Welcome Cuda44440  8)
the 11" clutch will fit just fine , the belcrank may be different though if the belhousing is wider at that point
most flywheels have some small cracks in them , usually this is not a problem but if you are worried about it you can get new flywheels or even steel race flywheels which are far stronger , I guess it depends how hard you intend to drive the car .

Thanks for  the info! 8)
I am not sure about what  a belcrank is.
I also have a 10.95  bell and flywheel  I might  just use it but  bigger is better.

really no difference between the 10.95 & 11" , most of the 11"  stuff costs more though ,
Bel crank = Z bar, pivot shaft between the frame & bell for the clutch linkage
