new fan shroud
« on: July 22, 2007 - 01:04:52 PM »
I just bought a new 22" fan shroud from Mancini racing and I'm trying to install it, but have ran into problems  I also purchased the mounting brackets and hardware.

here is the problem:
The hardware came with these little screw clips (pic on the pink rad support) how can I get them into the larger holes ( 2nd pic) between the radiator and the brackets? it's like the brackets are tac welded to the radiator.

any ideas or suggestions? these clips need to be installed so the shroud brackets can mount to them.

the clips just twist or snap into the holes so you can bolt on the rails to hold the shroud , I have done it before , I just cannot remember exactly how they snap into place

I don't know if various size inserts were made but I would suggest going to a wreckers and looking at other Mopars built in the 70's.  You can measure a few of them and pull them out if you need to.  I can look at my rad tonight as I have it out and take some measurements too.
