Question for the Challenger experts...
« on: August 13, 2007 - 08:40:31 PM »
Is this the correct "Dodge" nameplate for the trunk of a 71 Challenger? And does anyone re-pop it?

Yeah, that's the right one.  It probably was used on some other model as well.  Maybe someone with an interchange book can look it up.  Can you see the part # on the back?

Has your car had a re-paint? Most were not put back on after re-paint, like mine is MIA. I thought all 71 Challengers should have the glue on "Dodge" emblem on the trunk lid. The one in the grille was the only other "Dodge" logo on a 71. I could be wrong, but I think your car should have had one at one time.

The car was repainted a few years before I got (and we repainted it again), so I do not know if it was not put back on before I got it.  I know the side Challenger emblems were put back on so  :dunno:

CP, I found the grille emblems. They are the same size and shape, but they are not quite the same. The grille emblems have 3 studs on the back. I may use one of them and just grind the studs off the back. Looks like it will work fine.
