freight shipping a 440?

Where the best place to get shipping rate?A guy in seattle wants to buy a 440 i have for sale and i am in central california.Is there also any sites that will give a rough idea how much it will cost him to ship an engine on a pallet?I dont want to go thru all the trouble palletizing it if he will say it too much to ship

I used the freight center too. Pretty good. You need to make a pallet and crate it then its around $300.00 to ship.

I shipped a 440 short block from Atlanta to LA a couple of weeks ago via Forward Air (trucking line) for $263.  I was on an oak pallet.  Took 3 days.  :bananasmi

I second Forward Air....never used them but have heard of a lot of folks shipping motors cheaply by them with good luck...
