Paint help please

 My wife had a "run in" with a barbed wire fence last week. The car is a newer Tahoe with the plastic bumpers. Anyways what filler do you use to fill the scratches as the panels are pretty flexible?.

 I also need advice about shooting the new paints along with clears and blending the too. (I'm from the lacquer era so.....). Maybe a new spray gun recommendation too.

really not supposed to use filler on a bumper cover, it will crack and fall off.

 That's what I thought . Is there is a workable resin filler?

The only option other than replacing the bumper may be plastic welding.

 Their is a plastic filler available specifically for bumper and or plastic repairs.Companies like 3-M,Evercoat,SEM,Fusor have plastic repair filler available.Most are really easy to use and are very flexible you must follow directions carefully.Some may require an adhesion promoter.Check with your local automotive paint supplier they can help you out.Also even though you may have some experience painting it may be cheaper and less headache if you took it to a reputable body shop.Cost of proper paint supplies and equipment may be higher.

As Sam said above, both Evercoat and SEM have products that will help.  Finishmasters and other auto paint stores sell SEM 68422 Bumper Repair and it works great.  It comes in one of those epoxy two-part plunger type things.  You mix the two parts together and put it in the gouges, and it cures in 10- 15 minutes. It can then be sanded smooth. Evercoat makes a flexible glazing putty for the final smoothing, but it is pricey.  Those products will do the trick--guaranteed.
