Metal dash paint

How do you paint your metal dash , glove box ect? Do you match it to the dash color an get it painted or does someone sell matched in a can? It will be red? Help?

There is a Suede mix you add to the paint to give it the correct look.   I'm not saying this is the best or only place to get it, but this is what you're looking for.

That is black? So I mix it in with the red dash paint? Would that be a single stage paint. Does anyone know the red color paint code?

Did you even read the link? It clearly shows "available in colors". Click on the contact icon and I'm sure
they will be able to set you up with the right color.

I did read the link, but it was after I got off of nightshift. Lol sorry I didn't catch the big letters that said available in colors! Ill see if I can get this in Canada. Thanks for the second look 72cudamaan!  I will contact them to see if they have the correct color I'm looking for

I too was wondering what kind of paint they used, I tried 5 different kinds and none look right, so I will be getting some of this also :2thumbs:thanks for the info

its even in the service manual listing that the dash, steering column and some other parts are painted with the suede finish

herbs stuff sounds like a good option, has anyone used it yet and can give some feedback?

Can this be used on a center consol ? Or is that different stuff

Center Console is molded plastic and this not the correct paint for it.  Use your standard interior plastic paint for a console.  The Suede finish is for the metal dash, metal glove bo,x ash tray, and steering column.

That trim has the texture molded in it.  You can use any paint you want that will stick to metal.  Personally, I like to prime them with Epoxy (after them are blasted) then paint with single stage 2 part PPG paint with flattener added in.  I've seen people use "trim black" in a rattle can with good success too.  There are many ways to make it look right because the trim has the texture molded in you only need to get the sheen right to make it look good.
