Bondo or lead?

What is the preferred method of filling in around patch job edges, bondo or lead? What would be the advantage of using one over the other?

On original cars the vinyl top models used filler while the hard tops used lead.

I like to fill in some with MIG and then finish with bondo.  Lead is no fun and you end up finishing up with bondo anyway

For big gaps, like the roof seam, I usually start with Duraglass and finish up with bondo.
