  First off great looking car!
Instead of changing the grille, why not remove the bumper guards and the plastic filler behind the bumper and either find some 70,71 or 72 Challenger bumper brackets?? and get them to tuck in more, it gives them a much nicer and cleaner look. The front of a 72-74 Challenger may not be the best looking Challenger grille, but it does grow on ya, and black is probably the best color for making it blend in better.
Here is my 72 Challenger, notice how the front and rear bumpers tuck in and give it a smoother look.
 Good luck.

Hi, wow.... what a sweet looking car you have!! That's probably near what i'd be aiming for! I see what you mean about the look of your... It's nice too as it looks better, but its more original as you haven't changed the grill. Are the bumpers different from the 70 and the 73 version?  And yeah black is the colour!!

Thanks, Marko

Hi, Thanks! It's actually a '82 Capri it's the MkIII last generation of the Capri here and to me the best looking one!! This one looks more like an american muscle car! Sadly though it was envolved in a serious road accident in Italy shortly after my girlfriend went back to Mexico... hence with my pride and joy wrecked and having escaped death in my car I began a new chapter in my life starting in Mexico!!!

I don't blame you for wanting to start over in Mexico. I've been deep into Mexico a couple times, and I loved it there. It's a much slower, layed back lifestyle with lots of friendly people, beautiful women, and beautiful beaches.

  Thanks,
The 70-71 bumpers used the older type jack that hooked under the bumper, while the 72-74 used the newer type that hooked in a slot in the bumper so the 72-74 bumpers have a slot in them.
Other than that I don't know of any real differences, besides maybe optional bumper guard styles  :dunno:
But the 70-72 bumper brackets will work on your car, maybe one of the other members has more info for ya.

Hi Marko

I also like the 70 grill but if I was you I will keep it original, 73's can look cool too, here is a pick or my, an original black on black 340-4 with 4 speed..the previous owner spend good amount on new wheels and tires but eventually I like to change it to a set or original wheels.

I agree with the sugestion by EVIL72 about the removal of the bumper guards, gives the front and rear a much cleaner look

Welcome to the site Marko, great car. I agree with the others, keep it 73 mate.
I'd remove the bumperettes and look at the bumpers EVIL72 was talking about, makes it a cleaner finish.

The grille depends how you look at it, sad smiley face or evil snarl.  ;)
If your car looks anything close to Black340s, you'll have nothing to worry about.
