Need the mixing ratio for B5 (medium blue) interior color
« on: September 15, 2006 - 01:28:09 PM »
Need the mixing ratio for B5 (medium blue) interior color so I can have a local paint shop mix it for me. As I can't buy the paint from the USA, since the costums in the USA will not allow paint to be shipped out of the USA. And I don't know of any dealers in Norway that has the paint/ spray

Go here for the factory codes-

Hopefully your paint shop can cross reference it from there.

Found out the the spray YearOne is selling is called MOPAINTand the part number is: CP70MDKBLM They can't sell it to me either as they don't ship paint outside the US. Anyone know the mixing ratio for this paint?

I think there was only 1 interior blue so thunder blue ploy must be it.I would try and get a pint or half pint mixed up locally and check the colr match. If you can`t I can try and get the formula from my paint guy.

If you could get the correct mixing ratio for B5 interior I would really appreciate it.

Yes I'm still interested. I know there is a different  b5 blue for 70 then in 71-74. So the 70 one is the one I'm most after. But the mixing ratio for any interior B5 is a start

you probably know all of this from reading the above posts...but here's the point im at with my interior too.....
ok, it seems that in 70, there was only one blue listed on interior colors...Thunder Blue Poly (gloss and Suede version)... after trying to cross reference the old Ditzler paint code through DuPont (which is supposed to be exact-BUT was WAY off - looked like black almost) I stumbled upon the website listed above: http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1970-plymouth-pg02.jpg
this was the missing 1970 paint code page I was looking for...I have them for 71 and 71 shows two different blues on the interior...on this 70 chart you'll only find one #13848 (suede finish)...the gloss version has a different number, but its the same color...Roger Gibson has told me that it is near impossible to get a suede paint anymore, so a dusting technique is needed....

ANYWAY! I ordered a quart of the Tunder Blue Poly, and it sure looks like what I've been searching for... I will shoot this soon, and take pics for you... B5 interior needs an entire website dedicated to the subject...there is nothing out there...  the door panels, kick panels, and console, are kind of a mystery....I'm using Legendary interior bright blue parts...which sure seem like they are correct...now for the horn pad, thats up n the air...it should match the dash...I have heard that "just dashes" restores them the correct blue....???   On the 70 chart you'll see another paint code for consoles (Majesty Blue) listed under Plymouth Valiant...I dont know what this blue looks like yet....

71 charts list a Medium Blue Poly, and Bright Blue Poly....but this 70 chart shows everything painted with one color....just that the headliner mouldings are gloss....the dash, A pillar covers, hinge seat covers, dash corners, etc. are all suede finish Thunder Blue Poly...?!

that website seems like its correct...if your shop can use that old paint code then you should be ok....like I said , DuPont tried to cross it, and it was way off....?? Where are you located again??

Thanks for the info. I'm in Norway, north Europe. So I can't use this store as paint is not allowed to be sent out side the US without special permission. So i really need the mixing ratio. But I can try with the color code.
