Can someone help me out with a paint code. What is the paint code for a 70 Challenger with Go Mango Orange. It will be on a Super Stock SS/FA Drag car. I believe we are going to base coat and clear coat it. Whats the best brand of paint? Thanks for all your help. Eric

 PPG is considered the best by most guys,  in my opinion some of the other top brands are just as good and less money. that said I only use PPG. keep in mind a base/clear will not look excatly like the original color no matter what you do in my experience.

There is a DBU base coat formula available currently.
A DBC formula can be gotten from the PPG.

So do you think I should go with single stage paint?

Remembering it is a drag car. I want it to look stock but it is still a race car. I was at Barrett-Jackson last year and there were 2 go mango Challengers sitting next to each other and the 1 with white interrior and stripe looked a lot better then the car with black. I know the 1 that had all the white trim on it was painted single stage PPG. Not sure about the black trimmed car. The orange just really popped on the white trimmed car. I fell in love with it. The car I'm biulding is a Phill Mandella chassis SS/FA 70 440 6 pack Challenger. I'm trying looking for the car to have a restored look and run 9.30's -9.40. My Cuda with the same motor went 9.57 at Pomona last year on its last run before I sold it to Mike Cotton. I should be out at the beggining of next year. When it's done I'll get pictures posted here. The choice of single or base clear really is decided on how good the shop is doing it and what look you want. You can use single and achieve a base clear look by adding 50/50 color/clear mix to the  next to last coat followed by a full clear coat.
But the prep and the buffing will decide what the final finish is on either paint job.
