Fuel line from pump to carb
« on: October 14, 2007 - 07:19:38 PM »
I am trying to find a fuel line that runs from the fuel pump to the carb .Engine is a 440  I have tried all of the online sources but have come up empty so far.I am also wanting to get something that mates up better than a rubber hose. see pic below as this is what feeds the carb. Any suggestions? Also I really don't like the rubber line being so close to the distributor.
I was starting the car today and my brother in law stopped me and said that the fuel was leaking . I checked and had two leaks very close to the distributor.

Try JEGS.  Go to the carb. inlets.  They have nice stuff, not too pricey.

You have at least two choices.  With the  last car I built I bent up some 3/8" steel tubing and flared the ends. I believe the fittings were Goodrich.  You can buy the repro tubing but have to use clamped rubber pieces at the filter and pump.  It's for a stock job.  For the Cuda, I used steel braided line as mentioned below.  You have to buy the ends and cut the hose.  It's a fiddly job getting the ends on but it looks the best IMHO.  Here's a pic of the braided hose on the Cuda although things have changed a little with an electric fuel pump and alternator and rad upgrade this summer.

I have used the Holley Dual feed line , it has a flare end on it so you can just run steel line right into the dual feed line , it is also short enough that you can bend it slightly & get around the dist easily
