Cuda Challenger Autometer Dash - Whats it worth???
« on: October 23, 2007 - 06:58:00 PM »
Hey guys, this dash I built a while back is just sitting on my shelf, probably going to wind up going with a stock dash so was wondering if anyone on here was interested and what you thought it was worth?  Also have the matching tach w/ shift light which can go with it but doesn't have to.  Since these pics were taken i redid the paint and removed the shift light from the dash, - looks better and I can post more pics if you guys are interested.  thanks, Tyler

I also have all the accesories for the gauges, including the sender for the speedo, etc.  Ask if you are interested and want better pics.  you can email me @ tdralfs@telus.net

In response to some questions I've been asked:
The dash is a factory cuda bezel out of my 70.  i smoothed the texture off of it to give it a smooth look and imo it looks really good.  I mounted all the gauges into the plastic (the small gauges fit very easily, the speedo is removable but its mount and trim ring are permantntly bolted in, I spent a LOT of time filling and sanding to get this thing to look good.) All the gauges are electric and all the senders come with it, including the sender for the speedo which isn't cheap.  I also have the matching tach w/ shift light for these gauges.  I built it to replicate the dash in Joe rogans Sickfish which I saw in Vegas @ SEMA - it looks identical.  A few of the mounting tabs on the original bezel had small cracks which I repaired.  The inner dash (the metal portion that holds the original gauges) has obviously been cut to make room for the larger gauges; everything fits but I would not consider this part of the dash finished, even though you never see it if I was going to use it in my car I would finish the edges with a little dye grinder, right now it has some sharp edges.   I'm also including the bezel with the light switches, etc in it but you would have to supply your own 'guts' (ie switches, etc)  This piece has also been smoothed and painted to match the rest of the dash.  I have receipts for over $1135 for just the gauges (including the matching 5 inch tach).  For this set up I want $1000 for everything or I'll take $700 for just the dash without the tach.  Please let me know either way as I'll probably stick it on ebay with reserve if you don't want it.  If you are considering it I can take more pics of anything you want to see more clearly.  Thanks, Tyler

Not much interest here so I listed it on ebay.  Maybe I was a little high on my price - I paid a lot for the gauges but I guess they are overpriced up here in Canada.  My reserve on here is 500 if anyones interested.  Tyler
