Some came a semi gloss black. It depended on the year and vendor but I think all 73's came dichromate.

I can tell you that my 73 Cuda's booster came semi-gloss black from the factory.  Where from and how much did your new booster cost?  Mine developed a vac leak this summer and I need to replace it next spring....thanks.

Hood.. the booster on my car was also semi-gloss black color, the reason why I ask is because the previous owner pain the booster black and I was not sure if was the rigth color :clueless:.

As to the booster to find one here was a real problem :banghead:, before I order it I check several parts stores and all of them have the same item # but when I compared the old booster with the one that I order they were different :scared:, latter I find out :dunno: that is two different boosters one manufactured by Bendix and the Midland-Rosse, that is the one on my car.

None of the auto parst stores were able to find a Midland  ??? so I finally I send my booster to a rebuilder, the cost was $90 and took 4 days to be ready , looking at your pics seems that you have the same make of booster that I have, here is a pic, if you compare it with my first pic on the beginning of this post, you can see that on the Bendix the front is different on the Midland the master cylinder attach flat to the face of the booster.

Hope this help

If they came from the factory black, they were gloss black, as were any other black parts under the hood.

Hmmm, I think I may have made a mistake about the color of my brake booster.  Looking at a 35mm picture from 1973, anybody can see that it is not black like I said in an earlier post.  How it became black is beyond me.

I will be buying the booster and the master cylinder combo when I change mine out next year.

I was wondering how you have an orange motor as only blue was available in '73.

Around 1975 I decided to repaint the engine 'hemi orange' because I was 20 years old and sort of ignorant to what I was doing.  I will one day go back to the original chrysler blue color.
