Well I just got my set of 4772576 MP cylinder heads from Muscle Motors an hour from my house. Had them milled .030 and valve job checked out. They "hog bowled" my intakes-right below the seats and said they needed to touch up a few valves but they are good to go now and the C C are 63 cc's. $300 labor and $300 for them off E-Casino...I call it, ha ha. Think they call it E-Bay.
I know, they belong on a 360, with the 2.02 intakes but my little 318 is getting them this weekend. They have the big push rod openings which should help in the lower rpms.
I hear good and bad about the 308 castings, some say the exhaust flows too good and sucks the intake charge out. Eric from M. M. thought these 576 MP castings are BETTER than the J and X heads. They have no air ports in the exhaust ports that needed to be plug like the 308's. I thought they might be cracked but sounds not since M. M. did all that work to them...8 hours but charged me for 5..sweet. No shipping either since the guy lived close by...he had a buy it now and I seen them after only 3 hours on there.
Can't still decide which intake out of 5 I have its going to get...Eric had no straight answer. I have a Holley Z street dominator, a non egr street dominator, a Torker 340, a Offenhauser equal flow and that cast iron 340 intake. I am leaning to the cast iron for better mileage, just hate to choke it up at 5000+ rpms...which it does see very often....
