shroud to radiator
« on: October 30, 2007 - 09:23:33 PM »
Anybody got any tips on how to make the stock plastic radiator shroud (26") fit on the 299.00 dart/charger summit aluminum radiator for my 440 Challenger? I'm sure I can figure something out but if someone has done it I could learn from them.
I may be schizophrenic,
but at least I have each other

I need to figure it out too. Either use those plastic rods that go through the fins or make a bracket.

This is a 22" shroud on a BeCool radiator. The shroud was placed upside down to center the fan. It is installed using the channel brackets on the top and bottom and bolted to the shroud. The chrome filler piece on the top is from a universal chrome shroud.

When I put in my aluminum rad on my 72 Cuda, I made up four 5 inch  long brackets of 3/4 inch by 1/8 inch aluminum that I got from Home Depot. I drilled a hole in each end of the brackets, and mounted one end of each bracket on the radiator, and the other end of each bracket onto the original Mopar plastic shroud. The aluminum is easy to bend, and the brackets snugged the shrould up close to the radiator.
