my Dad is about burnt out on this project, he didn't even get a chance to install his new motor in his car yet, it's still sitting in the garage on an engine stand..

Dad painted the grill, didn't get to do a whole lot today, got to order new molding for the grill and valance, the grill molding will be tough to get on now that the bumper is on. car looks so much better outside, little scary getting it out of the garage tight fit.. tomorrow my Dad and I are going to see if we can get the hood painted or atleast get most of the nicks out and get it ready for the following day, depends on how much time we have..

That's crazy :villagers:

You could send your piece out to Tuff Wheel Restoration for instance and surely have it refinishd for less than those prices. I'd call and talk with them first but ive seen examples of their work and it's first rate :grinyes:

Here's a link to their cost estimates page. Just scroll down towards the bottom:

Quick progress.  If you have to pull the motor out, it will give you the perfect opportunity to get the engine bay painted body color!  :2thumbs:

last night before I pulled it in the garage, Dad and I was listening to where the sound was coming from, the motor sounded really good, not like you would expect it to run with bearing problems, it definetly was louder from the top of the motor than the bottom. my Dad though it has to be a pulley, the motor was healthy before, we did nothing to it, we shut the car off and checked the pulleys, the power steering pump belt was real loose and the pulley would make a loud knocking sound when you pushed in the pulley shaft in and out. alot of play on that shaft...
but here is the final pic the hood is just sitting on there not bolted yet.. the rear bumper I have to leave off so I can fit in the garage, I'd put it on but I not driving it yet.. and I still need to get the rubber bumper cushions..
I posted a sound clip of the exhaust. there is one before the new mufflers, thats without the msd, then the msd was put on, you can hear how the motor idles with a less rumble. just a tad smoother.. thats with the new exhaust..
