426 wedge
« on: November 03, 2007 - 11:48:15 PM »
Just came across and add in the Giant Nickel paper. Somebody selling a 1965 Chrysler 426 wedge engine, I am not familiar enough with these engines to know if its worth looking or not.

Some of them had dual quads and long or short ram manifolds, if I were you, I would have been there already.

Best of luck!

It can be bored out to a 440 standard bore quite easy and with pistons available,it makes a very good choice.  You can sonic check it easy enough, but I never had one fail at .070 over.  See if it's got an mp stamping in stead of hp. Then you got lucky. Also if it has exhaust valve relief notching in the cylinder walls.  Either way a 426 is a good find  :2thumbs:
