The top spoiler part is separate from the pedastal part. (at least that's how they come now). I guess it's possible.  Do you all think it looks right with those seams??

I spent 8 hours on the road today ::).  Just looked at  a 71 spoiler on the board and they both look the same so I guess it is right ::)

It certainly isn't anything to even bother about, that's for sure.  The interior looks pretty good and it sounds like a pretty good deal.  What do you think you'll offer?

I'm curious why it has not sold. Solid enough to seem to be worth it. He wants to pay off debts, I'll talk it out with him, see what he'll do. I don't think he'll budge much.  Thnks he can probably paint it and sell it for 10,000 at Carlisle.

The spoiler looks fine to me.

I will always accept Mike's opinion as correct!  You know, he probably could paint it and sell it at Carlisle for 10,000.  But, if he's looking to get out of debt, I doubt he's going to want to put more money into it in hopes of getting more money out of it.  It's only a $4,000 difference and paint and body work can eat that up quick.  I'd offer something in cash...it might be very tempting for him to take the cash and walk away.

Well I have to agree with Mike on this one.  I don't claim to be an expert, but what I do have is hundreds of pictures of cudas.  ;D  So after review of 20 or so, looks to me like its installed like the rest of the world has theirs!   8)

My eyes must be really bad, I guess.  Do you all see a "lip" all around the edge of the top of the spoiler?  I don't remember ever seeing that.  It looks like water would collect in there.  I thought they all had a flat surface...no lip.

The spoiler looks like it's mounted properly to me! The only reason it looks wrong is that you couldn't get a spoiler from the factory in 73, you had to add it yourself. I think it looks great!

The car wasn't originally painted Black. I decoded the tag numbers you posted.

L31 fender turn signals
M21 drip rail moldings
R11 music master am
V6X =  Sport Stripes Longtudinal tape (Black)
EN2 = End of Codes on Assembly Line 2
JYS = no such code
O = no such code
341 = no such code
C56 = Bucket Seats
G35 = Left Hand Outside remote chrome mirror
L25 = trunk compartment lamp
JY3 = Honey Gold (body color paint)
A6X9 = A class, Vinyl Buckets, Black
000 = upper door frame color (because E-bodies had full door panels no color was coded as no metal was exposed)
418= April 18th 1973 scheduled production build day
449707 = Vehicle order number (same number was on the invoice used to order the car)
E44 318
D13 3 speed
BH23

I hope this helps and if you have any more questions just ask,

 ;) Thanks for the endorsement Rev,
  The reason you think there is some kind of edge around the spoiler is probably because the picture is fuzzy. I put one of these on my Challenger a couple of years ago. Believe me, I was so scared drilling into that trunk lid, that I made SURE I was doing it correctly.

Mike, I remember when you first posted that thought...I'm scared just thinking about it!  We decided on a spoiler also and will be going through that gut wrenching process too.

JD, let us know what happens.

I think those go wings look great, just had to have one on our 73 Chally even if it wasn't a factory option that year.
