Can someone tell me what this bracket is for?
It's got two bolts through it,and there is also one on the other side.

I believe they were called towing brackets.  :screwy: I got 'em too. They seem kind of useless.

Sometimes when I ask questions I feel like a total idiot.I would never of figured it out.
I am mounting my heat shields for my exhaust, and I thought they would be in the way.

They were used to chain the cars to the transpor trucks.  When I built my trailer hitch years ago. I welded some diagonals to those brackets.  My hitch was so strong that I towed a trailer with a race car with my Chally to the Columbus Nationals a few years in a row.

They are shipping brackets, they hook the chains during the original shipping. Will not be in the way of your new heat shields or anything. If you do take them off , wrap them up and put away for the future if you plan on selling the car.
Did you get your spare alternator?? I'll be coming up to Paramus tomorrow..Have some things to take care off...

Has anyone mounted the mufflers without useing the heat shields? The shields are up againts the tow brackets when I push the mufflers up. Also I was told to mount the exhaust system from back to front.Aren't you suppose to start from the front of the car?
I cut all the exhaust system off the car,and now I'm not sure if everything is going to line up.

My factory heat shields are mounted to the inside frame rail. I run both rear mufflers and don't have a problem with the tow brackets.
