He probably didnt want to ship it, and someone probably bought it local.  Not right to most of us, but in his eyes, it removed a lot of hassle.   :stomp:

Unfortunately it happens alot.  People just want to sell it quick.  It's not right.  :stomp:

Just last week I spoke to a guy on Weds. to lget a set of rims on Fri. morning.  I called Fri. morning to get directions to his house-no answer.  Emailed-no answer.  People's word isn't worth what it used to.  :dunno:  >:(

personally, i hold it for the first person, if anyone else calls/emails, i let them know that someone else already called but if they bail then next in line is notified. just the way that i do things

Wow, what an a$$.  If he told you it was yours he should have held on to it for you.

Honest people are becoming harder and harder to find.

Yup, forget a handshake, there are a lot of people who will do you dirty with a signed contract. It is just another sign of the sad state of the world today.

Man, that's just wrong!!
A few years ago a co-worker had an early 70's Dodge shortbed truck. It had been customized and was just what I had been looking for. I gave the guy a 500 dollar down payment and even got a written receipt/bill of sale. I told him I would pay the remainder the next day. Had it all in writing. I went and secured a loan from my credit union and went to pay him the remainder (the next day) as I had agreed. Well guess what. Another co-worker offered him more money for the truck (after I had given him a down payment), so he sold it to him. When I walked up with the remaining cash and asked where the truck was, he sheepishly told me he had sold it and handed me the 500 bucks back. I had to bite my lip to keep from pile driving him into the floor right there. I went off on him verbally and told him what a slime-ball he was. I even contacted a lawyer and legally had him by ther balls with the receipt/sales document. I didn't feel like an ugly court battle and just let it go.....but I still can't believe he did it!!! Some people!!! :swear: :swear: :villagers: :villagers: :stomp: :swear:
Thank goodness there are still good honest folks out there!!
