My newest build-need some ideas.
« on: November 18, 2007 - 10:40:11 PM »
I have started my latest diorama.  It is going to be like a back yard autobody/paint building.  I think I will call it Bent autobody.  It will have some old weathered signs outside.  The inside will have a paint booth setup on one side and a car on a rotessoire beside that.  My problem is that I am not to familiar with body shops.  What type of clutter(inside and out) is usually found.  I know I will build a dumpster for beside the building--some old pallets ect.  Any other ideas will be appreceited.     Doug

Looks like a great idea!

I'm not that familiar with bodyshops, but old school shops like in highschool had crumpled newspapers on the ground (they were used for masking off the cars), paint splotches on the walls to sample different colors, tic-tac-toe on the walls, spilled paint, rattle cans on the floor, cabinet holding cans of paint (gallons/rattlecans), old car under a tarp (My autoshop teacher had an old MGB in the corner along with a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow), an old motorcycle/moped/golf cart, air hoses all over the floor connected to sprayguns, air sanders, dust, overspray on the car in the corner/floor.....
