My first question to him: "So what is the displacement of the engine in this car?? Date coded motor?? Could you please explain what you mean by this??"

His First response: "it is a 392 bored and with a high lift cam. I am not sure exactly what it takes it to but pretty close to 426."

My next reply: "Thanx for the reply XXXXX....The two engines; 392 and the 426 are totally seperate and parts cannot interchange....its a beautiful car. Good luck with the auction."

His next response: "it is a 69 392 Hemi... it alone is worth about 20K...."

My last reply: "Sir, I must correct you....392 Hemi was produced more than 10 years prior....THERE WERE NO 392 HEMIS PRODUCED AFTER 1959! The hemi is worth some $$, but not the 20K that you think. I have turned down 392 Hemis for $7K....Best of Luck to you sir!"

His auction has been changed....but it is still a misleading auction....

I got pretty much the exact same responses.  I had to laugh at $20K, though.  It must be bugging him that we know he's a fraud, because now he's emailing me without me even asking any more questions.  He knows he's a fraud and is trying to cover it up.

Around here the first gen hemis are a dime a dozen. I turned down a 354 or 392 sitting in a field for $50 about 2 years ago. I have a 53 New Yorker with a 331 in it and there is definitely a reason they call them whale motors. Cool thing about the 53 is I bet there is plenty of room to stick a big ole huffer on the engine and still clear the stock hood lol.
