casting date

Picked up a new b-block for my Fastback today.
The casting date says 5-18-67, and on the pad below the right head it says C383, the C stands for -67. Does any of you guys know which date is the break point were the 67 blocks were ment for -68 years car production?
Not all that important, but it would be nice to have a date correct engine.

generally the blocks were cast 3-4 months ahead of installation so it was used in a 68 as it was only 8 weeks ahead of the last of the 67 model year
