#1 On Mopar Distributor Cap?
« on: November 23, 2007 - 07:00:19 PM »
 :working:
I need a little help; I am installing a Mopar electronic ignition conversion kit. I took the spark plug wires off exactly from the old distributor cap, but its not starting. The #1 cylinder was maked on the old distributor cap but not on the new one, can anyone tell me how to identify the #1 cylinder/plug wire on the distributor cap?

Thanks for the help!!!!

works assuming distributor is installed the way the factory did it.

the Best way to do this is to remove #1 spark plug , put your finger over the hole & bump the engine over until the air pressure forces your finger out , you are now on #1 compression stroke & the rotor will be pointed close to where #1 should go

I did that and it was 180* off from the picture that StRoKr posted. I started it and it runs so I guess its right. New cap didn't solve my problem so a compression test, then off with it's heads.
