Grille hardware?
« on: December 08, 2007 - 06:07:55 PM »
K, wasted a ton of time lookin for the hardware, I think I was lookin for the wrong stuff, I have 4 push pins(black plastic) & 2 bolts with washers that were in a bag marked front, right side of pic(& I thought I seperated & labeled better than that, guess not) definatly off the 73, now the 74 came with 2 header panels those had plastic inserts for screws in them(on left in pic) The push pins do fit snugly into the same slots.
And lastly headlight benzel screws, I had 3, scrounged up another 3, they are 1 1/2" long are these correct, they seem a little long for that purpose?  top of pic,
this is all for the 73 barracuda. Thanks ,Rich.
The push pins will not push into the clips(way big)

I've never seen the plastic push pins used.  Were those even around in 73?   :dunno:

My grille was never attached right, so I used a hardware kit like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/72-74-Cuda-Barracuda-Grill-Grille-Hardware-Kit_W0QQitemZ180186103614QQihZ008QQcategoryZ10076QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

These pieces seem like the correct ones according to the service manual.  In the header panel you use the plastic inserts with screws.  Hope that helps.

You know these cars have been messed with over the years, I just ordered the kit, so it will wait another week or so before I get the front done. Thanks for the links,Rich.

Thanks for the proper link Bullitt.  I bought my kit from RT Specialties as well, but couldn't find a picture on their site last night.
