Abandoned and junked cars on Alabama
« on: September 29, 2007 - 05:29:44 PM »
I was surfing photos on Flickr today, looking for some Challenger photos, when I stumbled across this photo set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8490341@N04/sets/72157601446690631/ .  There are a lot of cool cars in here, including some Mopars.  What's better, all of the photos appear to have been posted within the last month, so the cars are probably still available.  If there are any list members who live in the area, this might be worth the time to check out.

Here's a few samples.

I couldn't find a sign with a phone number or name on it.  Just got back from a back roads Alabama and Georgia trip and I swear all I saw was chevies and fords.  Anyone have any idea where abouts these cars are?

I googled Atkieson and it came up as Atkieson Station located slightly ne of Thomasville off Hwy 43. Basically timber land. Hwy 43 is two lanes each direction, very rural, and basically the only way to get there is through backroads. But hey that's where all those 72 hemi 'cudas are hiding out at :stirpot: :icon16:

On my vacation I did a back road tour of georgia and alabama and really was very disappointed in the fact that I really didn't find anything.  Guess I will have to drive out there on thanksgiving.

I was spending a week in Alabama during the summer and did find about 3 or 4 old Mopar muscles on the old two lane hwys.  At the time I told myself to remember and take notes on where these were.  I did make a few notes.   Lost them, found the note again and lost it again despite being put in my wallet.   :swear:
