Windshield Wiper Switch 2 spd no wash options?
« on: December 16, 2007 - 08:41:40 AM »
Ok,

So I got a 2 spd Wiper switch and no wash.  Is it possible to use this switch for it?  I originally had the foot pump but that is long gone and would rather have the electrical option.

Anyone have a solution that looks semi factory?  Do I need a new switch?

I can't be the first, so I figured I'd ask the Wizards!

Thanks Guys/Gals!

well, i will say that for a breif moment my 3spd motor burned up. so i used a 2 spd motor (with electric pump) and it worked, the speeds were backwords but that was it, oh and it wouldnt settle down, youd have to stop it at the right moment........

and im an ass, havent gone out to the garage to look for door handles (for lock plate) yet, i promise i will get out there soon. its all at my parents house.....

No sweat on the door parts I have a lead on one from another member.

I was thinking of using my rear defroster switch for the wiper bottle motor?
It is a 3 position switch.  Since I don't have a rear defroster it should work I guess, maybe I can use the other position for the Foglights in the front(with arelay of course)  I will have to use a DMM to figure out the switch though.

I have a 2spd no wash switch so unless I locate a 2 spd wash switch I need to figure something out.

Anyone else?

You think the knob from the e-body will fit it?

Tom :dunno:

It only has On-Off-Wash though.

I think it is a 2-speed switch that you push for washer....looks the same as painless item described here http://www.painlessperformance.com/Manuals/80173Instruction.pdf

As far as the OE knob...who knows, they are kind of a universal "D" style.
It would require custom harness/adaptation of wiring at best.

Never mind it won't work. Checked the wiring diagrams & we need a Park terminal to send power in the off position.

Got your PM.

There was a 2 spd with wash option available right?

I wonder if the harness is the same for the two types of switches and i could swap a wash one in?
