Frame bracket location?
« on: December 20, 2007 - 05:41:40 PM »
Hey all, need to weld in my Z-bar bracket, and was wondering if this looked right.  I don't want to have to cut it out later.   :grinno:

Any pictures of your own install?

Also, couple questions:

Are the two ball stud thingies equal length, or is there a short and a long one?  I vaguely remember that my '68 Charger had a long and a short one, and I think if I put a short one on the scattershield side it might bring the clutch rod a little more towards the center of the hole.

Is my Z-bar on right, or it is backwards?  I had a '68 Valiant, and I think the retainer clip was on the frame side.  Also, the end of the Z-bar covered by the e-brake cable in the picture has a bunch of holes that I assume is for ignition, column, or clutch lockout stuff.

I'm putting this thing together finally after letting it sit for a couple years, it's funny how parts get re-arranged or lost...   :-[

Thanks a TON!!!   Might be driving this thing soon!!!     :burnout:

the positioning looks very close , the Z bar is in upside down though , the large lever is the bottom one

Thanks for the info on the Z-bar CP.

I looked at pictures on another post, and it's welded on now.  I can't wait to be banging gears!!

Just a precaution... Mine split at the ball stud nut. I put a large washer on either side. It almost tore off.And led to a glazed clutch disc before I found it :bricks1:
