mini starters-
« on: November 10, 2007 - 11:32:57 PM »
I've been looking at starters for a motor I'm now building and because of headers thought I'd get a mini. The ones on ebay are all made in China and I DON'T want to put that on my car if I don't have too. I'm wondering if even the Mopar Performance starter is made there. Every thing now is being made there even radiators. Any help?   :wavingflag:

Made by Nippondenso. I only buy MP ones thru Mancini.. At least I know they work. Remans are cheaper, but I have heard them fail. Chinese ones are cheaper, but again, I know I never have a failure, so I wont compromise. Another good source are wrecking yards for anything froma  Magnum V6 or V8. I have installed over 10 MP ones, 4 on my own stuff. No failures, even from my 9yr old one on my truck. Best single part MP ever sold IMO....lol.

I did the same plus added a $5 resto (clean and paint).  Even a good reman is expensive.  I think I was running out of $$$ when I got to this stage.

I got mine at the local auto parts store.. If I remember it is from a later model full size truck (D1500 I think.) It was a bolt in... and had a lifetime warranty.
If you search I am sure you can find the part #...
