Ultra HP vs a Proform Race Series
« on: January 11, 2008 - 04:37:45 PM »
Hi everyone, I hae a 72 Challenger with a 484 stroker, 440 Indy heads, M-1, 545 lift hyd flat tappet cam, that I currently have a Demon carb on. I am looking to change out the very finicky/unreliable Demon for a better carb. I have been looking at the Proform 950 Race Series and a 950 Holley Ultra HP. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with either carb series. I have heard good things about the Proform, and everything I have read up on the Hooley sounds like its a really good unit. The Holley is quite a bit more than the proform. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

If you want a bad a$z carb that you don't have to mess with at all look into www.vdlfuelsystems.com or www.performancecarburetors.com
I bot my Holley 4150 from PC and the dyno guys said it was awesome and didn't have to mess with it at all. The VDL guy does work for Nextel Cup teams and is flown around by those teams to do work. Dedicated carb shops are the way to go. I would at least contact them on the phone and ask a few questions of them.
