Well fellas I paid $4,600.00 for her. I got about everything on her but air conditioning and the rear window defogger. She has two fender tags, which I think is fairly rare for a 1974. Back when I first got my drivers licence (1971) my dad said he would help me with buying my first car. I knew just the one. A fella who lived down the street had a 1970 cuda with the 440 six pack, four speed with plum crazy paint and black interior and top. Most beautiful car my young eyes had ever seen! All I had to do now was show it to dad and she would be mine, right? As we drove over to look at her dad asked what kinda car you looking at? "A plymouth" I said. He nodded and said " I like plymouths" My heart kicked up several notches. I could almost smell the tires being smoked at the school parking lot, all my friend waiting for thier turn to get a ride in "THE" cuda. As we got close I said "thats her up on the right." He looked and continued onward. I said "thats her dad right here on our right." He never slowed down, looking over at me and said " if you think for a second that I going to buy you that for your first car you are out of your mind! Next week he brought me over a 1955 oldsmobile that had to weigh about 4 tons!! " Nice heavy car, lots of metal to protect you in a crash, got her for $80.00" he said. That cuda could have been bought for $1,800.00 then with about 8000 miles on her! Dad and I have often talked about that day and he said it was one of his biggest regrets that he did not buy me that car, but as he said "I only had one son and thought I would surely kill myself in that cuda." Well as the song goes " I saved my nickels and I saved my dimes." And when I could I bought my Challenger.
