Neutral start switch - same for 904 and 727?
« on: December 27, 2007 - 06:55:40 PM »
Having fitted an earlier (66) 383/727 to my 70 318/904 Barracuda, the Neutral start switch no longer matches the wiring loom connector.  Will the switch out of my old 904 be a straight swap or are they different???  The loom is the 3-pin neutral-start/backup light version while the 727 currently has a single threaded pin with nut.

I have successfully changed the 3 wire/1 wire switches between cases.(screwed the one out and replaced it with the other)  Even though the valve body is a little different on the inside where the pin on the switch touches, they have always worked.

Just make sure you check the depth of the plug you pull out with the plug you are fitting buddy. :2thumbs:

So the 3 wire switch works differently on different transmissions??  Will be original switch connecting to original loom.

............................The linkage inside the trans is all metal , whether in Dr or Rev it makes the connection to the switch...........on 69 up trans there is a plastic coating preventing the BU lights from coming on.....U could switch out the linkage.......kim...... :canada:
