Has anyone heard if the new Challenger will be amongst the vehicles that the public can test drive at this yr's Chrysler event at Carlisle?

I haven't heard. I don't know if the website has any info either. Maybe they will update it.

Do they typically let you drive SRT cars, especially in their first year of production?

I haven't talked to the people at Chrysler with regard to what cars they will be bringing for the Test Drives just yet.  I honestly doubt they will have one available but that's just my opinion.  IF, and I say IF, they were to bring one for people to drive, can you imagine how looooooooooooong that line would be???  You'd think people were camping out for Zeppelin tickets  :ylsuper:

Yeah I gotta agree with Ed - it'd be a disaster trying to have a Challenger test drive.  I really wish they WOULD, but it probably wouldn't be wise.

They have had SRT's in the past - they had the Crossfire SRT6 out there two years ago.  It was cool, but you couldn't unwind it at all - if you even went above 20 miles an hour or so they'd ban you from any more test drives.

Last year I didn't even bother with the test drives.  They need to follow Hummer and have some sweet offroad courses set up for the Jeeps, and maybe an 1/8th mile strip for the SRT's.  I mean, afterall, they're trying to attract sales, aren't they?  Ed - see what you can do.  :)  lol!

Know why??  'Cause no one would go to the show itself!  The freakin' line for that would run clear to the Maryland border!

Don't gimme wrong - I'd be right there in it!

That, and once MEK took the wheel, they'd have to shut the whole thing down to clean up all the wreckage.  :)  lol!

I remember back in '05 when some guys took the Crossfire for a little "spirited" drive down the hill.  Let's just say it was a good thing I was in the PT Cruiser convertible and not the Crossfire. :misbehaving:  I could only imagine how many people would try putting the new Challenger through its paces if they kept the same road course as before.
