71 Chally Vert-inner wheel well black or body color?

Is the inner wheel well (in the trunk) black or body color? 71 Challenger convertible. I thought I read somewhere that it was black with overspray when they painted the trunk.

All the original ones I have seen have been body color.

You are mixing terms, so I can see why you may be confused.

The inner wheel well is the business (tire) side.

The outer wheel well (inside the trunk) was always body color.

The inner wheel well is dip primer / body color overspray then sound deadener. (undercoating)
