'70 T/A questions
« on: December 29, 2007 - 08:35:57 PM »
I'm working on a '70 T/A model and I want it to be as factory as possible. One thing that wont be factory is I put chrome valve covers on it. I have a few questions though, when the T/As came out of the factory, what colour were the rear shocks, what colour was the gas tank and what colour is the master cyclinder and power booster? :clueless: :1zhelp:. Thanks!

Alaskan_TA is who you need to talk to.  If memory serves me right the shocks would be black, the gas tank would be natural metal.  The master cylinder is natural cast iron, The booster may be the light gold plating.  I wouldn't take my memory as fact but it might steer you in the right direction.

Be patient, Barry will get to this thread. He has all the information you could possibly ever need on the trans am cars. There are many in here who have a wealth of knowledge on those cars as well.

Go to Barry's profile and send an email to him.  Put in the subject line that you are from CC.Com and he will answer.  It's the holidays.  He may just be out of town.

Shocks are semi gloss black, gas tank is galvanized metal (sort of a gunmetal color) and the master cylinder assembly and booster in 1970 were semi gloss black (see this link from Barry's T/A website):
