How to get 10" rims to fit on an E-body Cuda?

Hi all. I know this has probably been thrown around before but I thought I would start a new post.
Can any of you E-body owners show/explain how you got a 10" or wider wheel and tire setup to fit without tubbing. Thanks in advance.  :thumbsup:

Get a set of air shocks, and you can put on anything you want. I had a 73 Cuda back in 73, and I had 10" deep dish Cragars on it with 50 series tires.

Correct BS. ;) What size tires are you going or wanting to run? 95% chance you can get away with 275's and save yourself the guess work. 275s are the standard "big" rim for these cars. I'll be running a 15x10" cop rim with 5-1/2" BS on my 'Cuda Madeline once complete. I trial fitted these tires/rims prior to strip down with 275s (as planned) and they fit perfectly. I had no choice in going the 10" size rim as they didn't offer an 8" cop wheel rim.

Remember, when you start talking in 1/4" to 1/2" gaps between springs and fender lip that each car is different. These cars gaps aren't all the same, some have more, some have less, it's minute but can make a difference. Just because one guy made them fit without mods doesn't mean it'll fit another car 100%. Usually but not always, just keep that in mind.

the best way is to run a 17" or larger diameter rim the minimise sidewall buldge
using a 295/50/15 they will rub , the 8 " rim pulls the sidewall in enough to fit in most cases

What rim/tire are you wanting to run? CW is right, these cars can vary a lot when you try and maximize tire size and minimize clearances. I am hoping to stuff 315's under my car and will have to move the springs to clear the additional width of the tire. I plan to run a lower profile tire with 1/4" to 5/16" clearance on the springs and even still may require fender lip rolling.

You will do very well to go and measure your backspacing before you buy your wheels and tires. I have read several accounts where guys are running 275's with 5.5BS on the rear with no mods.

I decided to go the shelby dog route and purchase a B body 8 3/4" rear end.  Using a mopar performance 3/4" relocated shackle kit and new Super stock leaf springs from mopar, the b body rear end dropped right in.  The new rear end is shorter overall allowing 15x10" rims  to fit with 5.5 inch backspacing for a tucked look.  Check out Shelby Dogs latest post in the Tire set up thread posted by Stroker to see his set up.  Thanks, Sam
