My wife and I  have been 5.5 years... keep focused...its tough all the way. We have saved approximately 60k...we moved into a new house instead of smoking.    :cooldancing:, were both a little heavier...LOL...and put a blower on the cuda with the smoking money as well.

Way to go Ghost...excellent. It's been said that smokers will either want to quit or have to quit. BTW, how'd you do it, I've been addicted for 39 years now.  :banghead:

Last year around New Years, I got a bad case of Bronchitis.  It hurt too much to smoke for a week, so once the bronchitis was gone, I decided to not start smoking again.  Had my last puff at 11:59 on December 31, 2006.  Cold turkey.

Congrats Ghost  :2thumbs: , it's a very addictive habit and honestly it should of been banned a long time ago.
Both my inlaws are long time smokers and it's really sad they're both having a ton of life threatening smoker related problems now and keep trying to quit, but just can't do it.

Congrats ghost  :2thumbs:
That is my resolution this year....so far, so good. 4 days, and not counting.
I quit for a year, and a half a few years back, and that was my best.
This year I plan on sticking to it.
The only bummer is now I know I have to stay away from drinking for a little while now, or I know I'm back to smoking  :crying:
No drinking make me one angry human  :pullinghair:

Congrats again to all those who have sucessfully quit

Thats great , hedkace :2thumbs:
I`ve heard that after 7 days you should be free from the addiction to nicotin.
I used to smoke, not a lot but.... later on I did use snuff.
But now days I only use tobacco and nicotin free snuff. I know, whats the point with that.
It helps me from getting trapped with tobbaco. :clueless:

Very cool!

Over 16 years for me now with no smokes or hard liquor, I quit both on my 24th birthday.

I quit the hard way, I binged on both until  I :puke: over and over again. I was sick for a few days afterwords, but it worked.  :bananasmi

I know how hard it was to do too. I smoked for about 21 years and then quite. Been smoke free for 14 years now. My old boss had a virus attack his heart and he ended up with a heart transplant and yet he still smoked all thru this. He ended up dying a year ago on Christmas  day from lung cancer---go fiqure !!!!!!

Congrats!!
That's awesome and hard to stick too. I smoked a lot of things......including cigarettes at about 1 1/2 packs a day!! Glad I'm free from it all and a lot healthier and happier to boot!! Had a lot of help from the good Lord!! Actually he gets all the credit!! :2thumbs:

That's a good accomplishment!  I've never been a smoker, but I know it's hard to break the habit.  As you mentioned, you do save quite a bit more money if you don't smoke, especially with the recent increase in tobacco taxes.  I heard Illinois went smoke-free in public institutions on 1/1/'08...If only Wisconsin could be that smart. ::)

...congratulations on kicking the habit.....

...I've been in the tobacco business for over 40 years (they were .25 cents per pack) and have never tried one, but it certainly is an addiction to those that start
