« on: December 29, 2007 - 10:21:55 PM »
does anybody know of a cold air system that will fit? i'm expecting to do a little cutting, but I was just wondering if there was a premade kit I could use instead of having to make one myself.  Thanks guys.

72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Mopar make one too. Dad put one on his SRT8 300C and holy crap, they make a big difference. Interior sound is dramatically increased under throttle and exterior noise is also, not as much as interior though. Performance and response is also very noticeable. You have to wonder why Chrysler/DC never put them on the car as standard......

You gain 1% power for every 10 degrees you lower the carb inlet air temp. So on a 500 horse engine, if you lower the temp of the air into the carb by 50 degrees (which ain't hard to do, as hot as it gets in engine compartments), you will gain 5% power, or 25 hp! I have a ram air box on my Cuda. It cost about $150, but gives me about a 30 hp increase.
