What is the correct #'s for a 727 for a 340
« on: December 28, 2007 - 06:23:30 PM »
I got a 727 out of a 70 van. Is the case and internals the same as one for a 340?

Big block vs. small block will be different, at least as far as the case is concerned.  I'm not sure about the internals.  What motor was in the van?

Yes for the most part. But you have the later then like 76 with different tq converts  ie lock up and earlier then 66 with a different spine input. But if you stay in between the years, most everything transfers over. The 318 trans out of the van will fit behind the 340 as well.

Transact will see this post no doubt and give you a good professional chime. :2thumbs:  I'm just a bumper

The internals are fine for a 340. What do you mean by case numbers? The case serial numbers will not say it is for a 340.

The different #'s are just serial # and date code?
