Is it easy to mess up alignment when installing these?
Before I cut out the first one, I made up pieces of angle iron that would bolt
from one frame rail to the other about half way back and at the very rear. I used
those to make sure the rails stayed the same distance apart and cut out only
one side at a time. I also made plumb-bob marks on the floor to back up my
measurements. I also made out of wood a stand that was the exact measurement
of the floor to the bottom of the frame rail and used that to hold the height while
welding in the new section. I used the shock crossmember as a measuring reference
point for making the cut line. With all that, I was still nervous as hell cutting out
the old ones!! Frame rails turned out good, but the project as a whole still got a long way to go!! Jeff
