Barry, thanks for all that, hope you saved those pics.

Question#1. Would a 12v cigarette lighter plug-in compressor inflate it?

Request#1. Do it again, do it again BUT this time put it on a car (first front then back), take it for a drive and video the whole thing....Yeh right

Some of the space savers have a mileage limit on them and speed limitations.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

   My cuda has the space saver tire and back 25 years ago or so when it was my daily driver I actually had to use it a couple of times to get me home. I remember reading some where that these only came in 14" though. Is that right?  Need to go dig mine out of the garage and see.

 Here is the warning sticker from the space saver spare.

I knew right after I posted this last night that someone would ask how tall it was inflated.......  :banghead:

I can schedule a rematch!  :bigsmile:

Post any reasonable questions here about it and I will go back in and face the dangers of inflating 37 year old rubber once again. I am not afraid........  :22yikes:

To answer these two;

As far as the cigar lighter inflator goes, send me one and I will try it.  :naughty:

The E-Body space savers were all 14", but there are two different styles.

Barry

You don't have one of those 12v compressors you plug into the cigarette lighter? I'd be curious to know if it would fill up the tire. Yeh, it'll take a lot of time if it does work, maybe I'll just have to try that on my own tire someday if I'm as brave as you.

Nope, I do not have one. I always carry a spare tire.

 Ok, I see a challenge. Air nozzles at dawn.
